Steel trawler style cruiser(2004)

Type Displacement trawler style cruiser with single screw exiting from long keel, keel hung shoe to rudder base.. Dimensions Loa approx 54 feet..
Built By Savcon Engineering in Stratford On Avon to a design by Camarc, she is steel hull with some steel uppers but mostly Alloy superstructure. "Treadmaster soft pattern" to all deck areas.. Engines Main engine 250hp Turbo diesel six cylinder Cummins.. driving through gearbox to straight 2.5" Temet 25 shaft and on to four bladed bronze propeller. This gives her a max of around 9.5 knots and will cruise her at hull design speed of 8 Knots.. The large RODA (Cummins) 21 KW Diesel generator engine is organized with a power take off through a cogged wheel system that will drive the main shaft if there is a main engine failure.. giving approx 3 knots "Get you home" ability. Fuel burn is estimated from log to be 4lts a Nautical mile at 1800 RPm ( 8knots) she makes 9.5 knots at 2100 rpm.
Tanks Huge capacity in 4 off inbuilt wing tanks give long range ability.. total 10500Lts,  approx. Water in 7 tanks all together give 1250 lts, black water tanks hold 250 lts and grey water approx 250lt as well..excellent access to tanks with sight guages in engine space. Berths Four.. Double master forward with en-suite and doubel guest cabin to stb with en-suite. possible sofa bed in saloon if required..

Interior

Here are some photos around the boat, as usual we will start inside forward , work back and then have a look around the deck areas..

Fabulous forward cabin with centreline berth.. hatch over. Natural Cherry timberwork throughout interior with SOLID Cherry mouldings and step edges, etc..

stb side. step up and huge hanging lockers,,, insect screen to windows.. ( 4 " insulation under deck and around hull so there has never been any damp issues..)

port side looking aft in to en-suite set to port, Corian worktops..

main fuel tanks are built in to hull either side of engine.. they have sight windows built in.. and access pannel in sound insulation so that should you need you can easily gain access to large hatch in tank side to get in tanks..

forward bulkhead. huge charger and inverter ability with correspondingly large battery capacity..

looking forward stb side.. entry and exit points to KEEL cooling system.. No holes in boat.... No salt water around heat exchangers etc etc ..

ok back up in saloon , Galley set to stb, ALL ELECTRIC, No gas aboard.. ceramic hob, and large oven..

awful shot , sorry,, will take this again.. aft end of gally, great stowage all round.. built in Blind boxes to windows..

port side opposite galley. Dinette, Solid Cherry table.. temporary straps over chair bases for "AT SEA" security. steps up to Bridge just visible right of shot..

port side of saloon looking aft,, double seat after drinks and TV cabinette etc.. big wet locker aft.. next to aft door.

better view of said door and wet locker.. Loose carpets over solid Cherry floor..

and sofa set to stb side.. this could easily be replaced with a sofa bed unit if berthing requirements dictated..

looking forward from aft door. centre "funnel box", runs all services, vents and exhaust stack up to fly bridge..

steps to port up to helm station.. behind dinette..steps return and go on up to flybridge..

port side of bridge, great lockers drawers etc all around.. Air damped seats are unlikely to be used in anger in this boat ! slamming rare I imagine..but soft and comfortable always.. note room for decent paper chart.. Yeoman plotter ..

Flybridge return screen support typifies whole build and design.. SOLID, Stainless. well executed..

aft sun pad...?  plenty of room up here perspex panels or  canvas dodgers could be fitted if you wanted this extra lounging area.. steps down to cockpit..

History Built for exacting owner. Used by them from Solent and have cruise french coast Channel islands, west country Silly Isles etc... had intended on "setting off" for blue water but plans have changed.. a boat well suited to long periods aboard
Broker's Comments Great , strong craft with ample Character.. finish well. and much admired on her travels.. Steel is probably the best material for long distance boats .. easy to repair anywhere... strong...and when built and finished this well .. looks like GRP anyway !
