Interior

bow prop, note bar anode at top of tunnel,

stb side, shafts all cleaned off, note the back end of the Keel is cut away before props to aid fast turning, approx 12" deep back here..

smart Five bladers , again all nice and clean, note how nice and yellow they are so no problem with dezincification here..., no rope cutters fitted, but plenty of room should you wish

These underwater exhaust pods reduce the airbourne noise dramatically and also reduce the soot from exhaust to virtually nill, note they are cut away at a base so that they do not ram water in under way !, trim tabs left of shot

bow, deep chines, with slight return shape under main hull chine helps keep the water down..

looking aft, you can see why these boats have such a good "GRIP" of the water, long keel, all just repinted February 2012

Clean and tidy, Purposeful look to these 44's, Note Treadmast to decks, ( "soft pattern" ) easier to clean and not quite so hard on bare feet as the 2M" or diamond pattern. Treadmaster is still used on Life boats and is recognised as one of the best non skid deck finishes available,

aft end, twin hatches to aft cabin, give lots of light.. note auxillary outboard bracket for stored rollup dinghy ability, ( not included)

Life raft cradle stb side, (raft included, )

port side deck, boarding ladder drops in either side, note tread plate (black) in air vent acts as a side step when the ladder is not in place.

port side deck, what a great view of the secure feel there is to working around deck on a Broom 44, solid grabs both sides at good heights, wide un obstructed decks with no slope or steps, and treadmaster surface..note also side opening window to co-pilot side as well as helm side.. ( factory extras)

Foredeck, open and again good space, three opening deck hatches and good static ventilation, note built in fender baskets..

Engine removal hatch is standard on all Broom Boats , not that you want to use it! but it does make it no more than a days work to have both power plants out in a truck and away.. if they needed major work,, it also allows, the engine room to be cleaned out and some owner choose to have the engines taken out every 20 years or so for a clean out anyway..

Electric windlass with deck and helm controls, Bruce anchor ( 37 meters chain marked every five metres,,)

view back, stainless frames,,

4 KW open array scanner give good definition on 10" Simrad CR42ATF1 plotter radar/ Screen

cabin entry door, slides left under dash... The walnut effect dash panles are in good order,

to port the co-pilot has roo for a fyull paper chart, note also the GR cover in place over the Simrad radar plotter screen in this photo, also note the forward canopy release clips that allow the forward frame to fold back complete with the canopy.

stb release clip. The fact that this works so well makes it a nice feauture to be able to have the to off underway in nice weather, the screen is deep so you are still well protected,,

The radar arch will fold down to reduce the airdraught to low enough to get dwon through France ..3.34m

helm set to starboard, note elctronic controls.

stb side of saloon, the first owner paid quite an amount extra to have the smart Teak louvered doors in place of the Standard flat doors.

dinette set to stb forward in saloon, two loose stools also upholstered in cream leather .. (immaculate)

settee set to port, with loose coffee table, grab rail over head,

forward, note the generator in a cacoon forward, ( 8KVA I Think! will check could be larger ) Stainless holding tank down to right of generator..

batteries all stored aft, The first owner paid extra £1,000 for better than standard sound proofing... Double barrier "Accoustalan" I think... which has a lead and neoprene layer through it. a very good spend I think..

access aft from aft cabin access steps. stb engine in view..

back up in saloon, port side lockers,,,Drinks,

View forward past galley to port to forward cabin... these photos are possibly slightly over exposed.. as the turquoise carpets do not jump at you quite so much as they seem to here! heads / shower forward of galley to port, side twin cabin to stb

galley, all electric, (no gas aboard ), twin sinks through avonite top,

galley looking aft, generator start panel left of shot,

view in to stb side cabin, the berths are full size, nice drawer unit, two opening port holes.. note heating outlets at floor,

huge hanging locker forward in this cabin, this is deep as well.

en-suite door to forward cabin....

stb side looking aft, door right of shot..

aft berth, as usual great big bed..

stb forward, cabin door then hanging locker,, (one of four !)

aft stb quarter, superb stowage in these boats,, and good headroom in here as well.. something that has sadly been rather reduced in the new Broom 455..

aft heads,

and solid folding door to shower forward,

History Sold new to first owner by James Dickens, sold on to the current owner by James Dickens, ket in Port Solent with first owner, well maintained by professionals, caterpillar fitted new Heads from new.. as there were some with valve issues,, this was done at around 50 hours as a precaution., also they fitted the later fuel coolers while they were there as a favour . New bow thruster motor a couple of years ago, nothing else of any real note, Finnings Poole always serviced for first owner...he ordered a new Broom...second owner has kept her beautifully , bringing her right up to scratch in all areas, she has been moored in and around the Solent all her life. The curent owner loves the boat and having had several Broom boats in the past, is finding it hard to part with, but he now needs a smaller boat..
Broker's Comments This Boat is Great value, and I doubt we will have her long. I remember delivering her round for the first owner in pretty ghastly weather, and making for the Solent from Gt Yarmouth in to a full 6 gusting 7.. round the Headlands.. so we slowed to a 12 knots or so.. down from Orfordness to Dungerness...till we turned across it more and ran at 22 knots from Beachy head to Lymington.. in comfort, and they seem to have a low centre of gravity and wide base at the waterline... add the excellent protected helm and you feel, DRY, WARM and very "in control" which helps all crew in lumpy seas. The owner may consider a reasonably priced part exchange as part payment which may help so try us .. VIDEOWALK click on the following link ;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOO5WQXjTmI
