Interior

stb aft quarter, No davit arrangement, owners have always had a rollaway Avon dinghy which is something I can sympathise with, no extra tail weight, less length to pay in marina, easy access either side of aft platform, etc there is a lot to be said for avoiding a dinghy if you can..

port side to at home berth

Stb side deck, no steps,, just gentle slope forward, great grabrails as all Broom boats,,

port side deck, side door amidships..

aft walk round deck is loved by crew, you can walk easily, round whole boat, which makes fenders etc easy..

deck hatch is easy to remove and is fitted to allow easy lift out of engine...should the need araise... unlike most other builders.. access to major fittings is thought about..

port side door, good to load kit aboard off pontoon, as well as hopping on and off at pontoon, or lock etc, with a big opening window opposite you can get a good through flow of air as well... just forward of door you can see a small deck fitting...

super helm station, note heater outlet at feet,

paper chart area top left...wonderful 10" simrad 44 plotter screen with VHF and DSC units from Icom, simrad autopilot stb under simple single lever morse controls. ( as the boat has just one set of controls, and they are simple cables... the feel and use of these units is as good as it can be, you have no Change over gate to deal with and no electronic delays in action etc... and as they are simpler gearboxes, you can deal with putting them in and out of gear with "Mole grips" if needs be...!! I like simple,, when at sea my self..

History Sold new to first owner who used her around three times, ( wife did not want to play.. so we sold her on to current owner who has used her mostly from Brighton then moved her up near home on the Thames last year.. he is now looking for a river boat as he has done offshore cruising now,, so if you have a steel 35 "ish" river boat in good order, he MAY consider her in part exchange..
Broker's Comments We sold this boat to her current owner, we know the boat pretty well and she is in good shape. Broom 42's offer excellent ability at sea, and simple surefooted river speed handling also. with her airdraught at less than 3.4 she will easily explore Europe. The Yanmar 440hp's seem overkill to start with,, as she is quite happy at 25 knots with teh 350 Yanmars.. how ever at mid season the 440's give you speed despite fouling if you need it and they do sound so relaxed at 23 knots when cruising. I did a VIDEOWALK while taking photos, which can be viewed by clicking on the following link;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ow0G5a-MgmU
